Regarding Shevchenko, Braida recalled that he was already a well-known player, but he believed AC Milan couldn't afford to miss out on signing him.
Braida remembered being impressed by Shevchenko's skills every time he saw him play and even told the player that he would win the Ballon d'Or if he joined AC Milan, which ultimately came true.
As for Van Basten, Braida said he was impressed by the player's ability to make decisive plays, recalling a time when he saw him play in Amsterdam and was immediately drawn to his skills.
